Welcome to a {Weekend Wedding} in Pink, Brown, Yellow, & Ivory!

A sweet and romantic wedding dress with asymmetrical layers of organza and flower detail by Alvina Valenta is accented by a simple yet elegant knee length bridesmaid dress by Siri in brown.  This springtime wedding features vibrant shades of pink infused with warm brown, soft yellow, and classic ivory.  The reception tables are draped in simple ivory linens and are topped with subtle pink floral centerpieces.  Instead of indulging in cake, the guests are served delicious french style macaroons in raspberry, chocolate, lemon, and coconut flavours.  At the end of the evening, everyone is sent home with a bottle of handmade citrus bubble bath to remind them of this vibrant springtime wedding.

What to Wear Wednesday - Navy Blue & Orange

Good evening everyone and welcome back for another What to Wear Wednesday.
This week we're looking at a Navy Blue and Orange colour palette. This is a bold colour combination but the colours are classically complimentary and is beautiful for a fall wedding. Let's take a look at some inspiring fashions.

Wedding Dresses:
It's fall! So, that means it's time to put those summery strapless back on the racks. I know, I know, strapless is classic but trust me on this. Back away from the strapless dresses, take a deep breath and let's explore some fall appropriate dresses. Bateau, halter, scoop ... oh my!

Square-scoop dress on left by 2BeBride by Elizabeth Darcy; high collared dress on right by 2BeBride by Elizabeth Darcy.
V-necked dress with cap sleeves on left by Alfred Sung; scoop necked dress on right by Eden Bridals.

Bridesmaids:
For your bridesmaids you can go with either colour for their dresses. Navy blue is beautiful and universally flattering and for the time of year oranges are warm and rich. However, it is a good thing to keep in mind that it is easier to come by orange flowers than navy flowers. So, if you're looking for a strong contrast with dresses and bouquets, orange flowers and blue dresses will make the strongest impact.
Here's a great fall trend for bridesmaids: sheer high necked and one-shouldered dresses.

Both dresses by Bari Jay.
DESIGNER CRUSH ALERT! Okay, so it's no secret that I LOVE Jim Hjelm, but I have yet to find another designer who can pull off beautiful dresses in orange the way that he can. Take a look and you can clearly see why this designer excites me so much!

Hope to see for Floral Friday and don't forget to cast your vote on this week's poll before it's too late!

What to Wear Wednesday - Brown & Red

Good evening everyone and thanks for stopping in for What to Wear Wednesday!
As you know, this week's colour palette is brown and red but the shades that you use are entirely up to you and your own personal style. Since both a white or an ivory wedding dress would work for this colour palette, I'll be focusing mainly on the bridesmaids' fashions.

Bridesmaids:
Both red and brown are great colours for your bridesmaids' dresses since they are both pretty much universally flattering. Your girls will look and feel great in a warm shade of brown. Then again, who wouldn't thank you for a sizzling hot shade of red? Or you really could use both! Try a dress in one colour and accent it with a bow, a sash, or applique in the other!

I don't know the specific desinger of these dresses, but aren't they gorgeous? And what a great way to make your Maid of Honour stand out from the other bridesmaids!

What to Wear Wednesday - Coffee Colours

Hello coffee lovers and welcome back for What to Wear Wednesday!
When you pick a coffee coloured wedding, your colours are mostly going to be in the browns and the taupes. So when looking for a wedding dress, I personally recommend an off-white colour like ivory, antique gold, cognac, or blush. However, if you are set on having a white dress, a great brown or taupe sash is a perfect way to tie it in with your colour palette.
When looking for bridesmaid dresses for this theme, it's obvious to stick to shades of brown. Lots of dress designers use great fabrics in colours like mocha, latte, cappuccino, and espresso - perfect inspiration for a theme like this one!
Let's take a look at some great dresses!
Enjoy!
