Weekend Wedding - Beach Edition

Welcome to a Weekend Wedding at the beach!

A beautiful flowing v-neck wedding dress by Nicole Miller is accompanied by a soft blue strapless bridesmaid dress by Jim Hjelm Occasions and a casual tan coloured suit. A simple, white, two-tier cake is accented with seashells and starfish, as well as, sand-coloured granulated sugar. Favors of beautiful white sand in cute corked bottles that are decorated with starfish are given out to the guests to remind them both of the beach and of your special day. Beach elements are added to the decorations, the stationary, and the placecards. The reception venue overlooks the water and is accented with a straw covered roof. The result? A magical beach wedding!

Floral Friday

Welcome to the first "Floral Friday!"
Since this week's theme is focusing on casual beach weddings, we'll be looking at flowers in soft creams, ivories, yellows, and pinks.
With beach weddings there is also lots of room for creativity so check out the use of a variety of seashells in the bouquets. Enjoy!

Frangipani bouquets are simple, elegant, and classically "beachy."
The subtle use of seashells and starfish in these bouquets adds an additional beach element.
Or, you can go full out and make a bouquet entirely of seashells.
These boutonnieres are simple, elegant, and great for men who are against flowers.
Check in this weekend to see the final Beach Wedding Inspiration Board and the annoucement of next week's theme!

What to Wear Wednesday

Welcome to the first "What to Wear Wednesday!"
Each Wednesday I'll be looking at bridesmaid dresses, wedding dresses, and even groomsmen's suit that fit the weekly theme.
Since this week's theme is casual beach weddings, the key is soft colours and light, flowing fabrics. I love knee-length hemlines, empire waists, and strapless or halter necklines for brides' and bridesmaids' dresses. Also, keep your colours light or pastel to help create a soft, light, and cool feel for your wedding party. Fabrics are also important to help keep you and your bridal party cool. So, opt for dresses in chiffon, organza, or even cotton blend fabrics and maybe look for linen suits for your groomsmen.

Bridesmaid Dresses:
These beautiful bridesmaid dresses are by Jim Hjelm Occasions.
This creamy yellow strapless dress is by Eden Bridals.

These light and flowy dresses are by Nordstrom.

This gorgeous strapless assymetrical lace dress is by Alfred Angelo.

This halter dress is from the Destinations by Maggie Sottero line.

Welcome to "I do ... Inspiration"

Hello and welcome to the first post of my blog " I do ... inspiration"
I love weddings. I love the thought of two people coming together with all their family and friends to celebrate their love and committment to one another. However, the thing that I love the most about weddings is how each one is unique and special. Wether it be the theme, the colours, or the design, I love the way that weddings are put together to show off each couple's individuality.
From this, I've developed a passion for puting together colours and themes to create inspiration for weddings. And that's why I decided to start this blog, because I wanted to share my ideas with anyone and everyone. And if I can help just one stressed out bride put together a beautiful wedding, well then that'll just be fantastic.
Each week I'll be discussing a new theme or colour scheme, touching on things like bridesmaid dresses, flowers, favours, table settings, and stationary. At the end of each week I'll post a inspiration board that showcases my favourite things for that theme or colour scheme.
So, keep checking in and please feel free to make comments and contact me if you have any suggestions or special requests.
Looking forward to inspiring all those big days out there!

Next Week's Theme:
Since the summer has just begun and I've been feeling the itch to getaway and take a vacation, I'll be looking at a beach themed wedding. Hope you all can make it out!
