{Weekend Wedding} Bright Pink & Green

Welcome to a {Weekend Wedding} in Bright Pink & Green!

A strapless wedding dress with a cropped jacket by Jim Hjelm is accented by a v-necked dress in bright pink with white polka dots by J. Crew Bridesmaids.  The guests receive invitations in bright shades of pink and green that really set the tone for this fun and festive wedding celebration.  The outdoor tables are draped in bright green linens and topped with flowers in pink and fuschia.  The surrounding trees are hung with bright pink and green paper lanterns that are fabulously colourful during the day and give off soft lighting in the evening.  The guests indulge in a simple three tiered white cake that is beautifully decorated with a spray of pink sugar flowers.  At the end of the night, everyone is sent home with a token of the couple's gratitude packaged in a cute white take-out box with custom pink and green label.

{Weekend Wedding} Soft Pink & Green

{Weekend Wedding} Destination Mexico!

Welcome to a {Weekend Wedding} in Mexico!

Welcome to Mexico!  This couple was really inspired by the colouful and summery atmosphere of Mexico and knew that it would be the perfect theme for their wedding.  An elegant, yet festive strapless organza wedding dress with cascading ruffles by Demetrios Sposabella is accented by colourful mismatched Mexican peasant dresses on the bridesmaids (photo by Daisy Varley).  Long before this fiesta took place, the guests received invitations decorated with Mexican inspired images of hanging lace reminiscent of the Mexican celebration of El Día de los Muertos, or "the Day of the Dead."  Instead of using flowers, the couple opt for unique bouquets and centerpieces of succulents and cacti.  The reception tables are draped in colourful  striped linens reminiscent of Mexican tapestries and every table is numbered in Spanish rather than English.  The guests indulge in a delicious buffet of the couple's favourite Mexican foods while sipping on various Mexican liquors.  Instead of serving a cake, the couple chose to offer their guests powdered pecan cookies, which is a traditional wedding dessert in Mexico.  At the end of the evening, everyone is sent home with a brightly coloured maraca (photo by Daisy Varley) to keep the fun spirit of this celebration alive long after it is finished.

{A Weekend Wedding} Destination Greece!

Welcome to Greece!  For this wedding, the couple was inspired by the blue, yellow, and white combination used in the evil eye, which is a good luck talisman of the mediterranean.  A flowing wedding dress with draped bodice from the Destinations by Maggie Sottero line is accented by a bridesmaid dress from Dessy in a custom blue and white.  A breathtaking seaside venue is used for the reception and the tables are draped with crisscrossing blue, white, and yellow linens.  The guests indulge in a simple white three tiered cake with gold and blue accents that reflet the water of the venue.  At the end of the evening everyone gives their best wishes to the bride and groom and the guests are sent home with their own lucky evil eye talisman to bring their own good fortune and remind them of their wonderful time in Greece.
