Welcome to a colourful garden wedding with a touch of whimsy! The bride wears a beautiful strapless dress with pin fold design by Watters Brides, which is accented by a cute bridesmaid dress with sweetheart neckline in a fantastic chartreuse shade by J. Crew. The palette is bright, colourful, and fun featuring shades of chartreuse, red, and yellow. Long before these garden nuptials took place, the guests received brightly coloured yellow invitations that are great indicators that the theme of the day will be love AND fun! For a fun whimsical twist straight out of Alice in Wonderland, the reception is decorated with beautiful flowers in unique mismatched teacups and the place cards are hung elegantly from the trees. The guests beat the heat with tasty red and green slushie drinks and enjoy delicious macaroons in the colours of the day. At the end of night when the moon and stars are high in the sky, the guests are spent home with a token of the couple's appreciation in a lovely gold box hand-tied with a chartreuse ribbon and a personalized tag. It will be a long time before anyone forgets this garden wedding!

{Fashion}
All three of the colours in this palette would make a fantastic choice for bridesmaid and groomsmen colours. They are all bright and eye-catching - perfect for a brightly coloured and whimsical spring or summer wedding. However, I personally believe that chartreuse is the best of the three options, just because red and yellow flowers will really pop against a beautiful dress in this green shade!

Depending on what colour you choose for your bridesmaids and your groosmen, you really need to make it pop! It's been a long hiatus for me from posting but I'm ready to get back it. You'll notice a few changes with the blog posts but I think it's for the better and ultimately will make for a more interesting read. From now on, I will be aiming for just one post a week, but that post will combine all of the elements that I would normally have discussed throughout the week leading up to the weekend. {Weekend Wedding} Destination Mexico!

Welcome to a {Weekend Wedding} in Mexico!

Welcome to Mexico! This couple was really inspired by the colouful and summery atmosphere of Mexico and knew that it would be the perfect theme for their wedding. An elegant, yet festive strapless organza wedding dress with cascading ruffles by Demetrios Sposabella is accented by colourful mismatched Mexican peasant dresses on the bridesmaids (photo by Daisy Varley). Long before this fiesta took place, the guests received invitations decorated with Mexican inspired images of hanging lace reminiscent of the Mexican celebration of El Día de los Muertos, or "the Day of the Dead." Instead of using flowers, the couple opt for unique bouquets and centerpieces of succulents and cacti. The reception tables are draped in colourful striped linens reminiscent of Mexican tapestries and every table is numbered in Spanish rather than English. The guests indulge in a delicious buffet of the couple's favourite Mexican foods while sipping on various Mexican liquors. Instead of serving a cake, the couple chose to offer their guests powdered pecan cookies, which is a traditional wedding dessert in Mexico. At the end of the evening, everyone is sent home with a brightly coloured maraca (photo by Daisy Varley) to keep the fun spirit of this celebration alive long after it is finished.

This week we will be looing at Mexican Themed Weddings. So, prepare for some spicey and sizzling hot inspirations!

{Table Settings}
Add some unique touches to your tables to make your wedding stand out as a Mexican themed wedding. Think about using Spanish in your place cards or table numbers instead of your own language. Drape your tables in brightly coloured striped linens and make creative centerpieces that utilize cacti, sombreros, or lanterns.

{Stationary}
Many printing companies will already have cinco de mayo invitations. So, you can use these a place to start for your invitations and other stationary. Think about using fun Mexican images like maracas, sombreros, or hanging lace garland. Again, you may want to add some Spanish into your invitations and stationary to really make it fit with your theme (at least enough that everyone will be able to understand)!

{Food & Desserts}
For a Mexican themed wedding, think about serving a delicious buffet of your favourite Mexican foods. Try serving different salsas and dips for delicious appetizers, followed by tacos, burritos, corn, and beans. {Weekend Wedding} Destination Hawaii!

Welcome to a {Weekend Wedding} in Hawaii!

Welcome to Hawaii! This couple fell in love with the easy going mentality and exotic atmosphere of Hawaii. So, they opted for fun Hawaiian themed wedding. The bride wears a beautiful custom halter neck wedding dress from Whirlingturban that is accented by a flowing strapless bridesmaid dress in a floral pattern also from Whirlingturban. The ceremony took place on a local beach with a breathtaking water backdrop, decorated with brightly coloured flowers and pineapples. The reception took place outside so the guests could take in the Hawaiian sunset. The tables were draped in simple but elegant linens and were surrounded by palm trees and beach torches. The guests enjoyed some of the couples' favourite tropical drinks like pina coladas and mai tais. The guests indulged in a slice of a white three tired cake covered in sugared plumeria flowers. At the end of the evening, everyone took home token of the couples' gratitude packed in a palm box.

For a Hawaiian wedding, you really have to use the island flowers to your advantage. Tuck a colourful hibiscus into your chair covers to give your Hawaiian or Hawaiian themed wedding the tropical touch.

Welcome to Greece! For this wedding, the couple was inspired by the blue, yellow, and white combination used in the evil eye, which is a good luck talisman of the mediterranean. A breathtaking seaside venue is used for the reception and the tables are draped with crisscrossing blue, white, and yellow linens. Hello everyone and welcome to the second week of February is Destination Month and another edition of {Table Top Tuesday}!
This week is all about Destination Greece! Now, you don't necessarily have to go to Greece to have a fabulous Greek themed wedding. It's all about the atmosphere that you create with your overall wedding style. Let's take a look at some interesting ideas that will help your guests feel like they're in Greece, even if they're not.

{Table Settings}
When choosing how you want to decorate your tables for your Greek Themed wedding, keep a few things in mind. Colour - white and blue are Greece's colours and make a perfect backdrop for your themed wedding. Style and ambiance - if you can't actually make it all the way to Greece, you definitely want people to feel like they are there. There is definitely alot to pull for to add special touches to your tables. Choose empty bottles of Greek alcohol or pretty Greek style vases for your centerpieces. Using eclectic mismatched china with blue designs gives the whole affair an informal atmosphere and makes it more like a huge celebration (which if you've ever been to a Greek wedding with 500+ guests ...). Greece is famous for its art and architecture, so you can pull in elements like sculpture, columns, or certain patterns to make your day FEEL Greek, even if it really isn't!

A Greece themed wedding HAS to be outside! In Greece, they have beautiful landscape and seasides, so take advantage of the effect that a great wedding venue can have on your overall theme.

Garden statues like these are the perfect size for a centerpiece or decoration and fit perfectly with a Greek themed wedding!

{Stationary}
Your stationary can pull in many elements of your overall theme. Opt for simple colours like white and blue with perhaps a bit of yellow as a sunny accent colour, to keep with the Greece theme. And even if your Greece themed wedding isn't a real destination wedding, who says you can't play around with that idea, too?

{Eye Candy} Engagement Photoshoots with Umbrellas

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to another edition of {Eye Candy}!
Bringing props along for your engagement and wedding photo shoots are a great way to personalize them and give them a unique feel. During the Christmas break, I was inspired by a Chrisian Dior advertisement to feature an eye candy post on engagement and wedding photos that featured balloons. Then I started to find tons of photos that featured all kinds of interesting props. So, for the last two weeks, I've been polling my you on your favourite engagement photo shoot props. The competition was tight between umbrellas, kites, animals, and luggage. However, in the end Umbrellas came out on top. Since the result of this past week's poll came to a tie, we'll be looking at a Navy Blue & Blush Pink colour combination this week followed by Red, Black, & Grey next week.
The combination of Navy Blue & Blush Pink truly makes for a beautiful wedding. It's a little bit sophisticated and a little bit modern. It's also a great way to get around using a harsh black or a plain white as a neutral colour for your palette because navy is a great in between colour. Let's take a look at some inspirations!

This week we will be looking at the fantastic colour combination of Pink & Silver. I used this colour combination as an option for the December poll. However, it really can be used for any time of the year, it simply depends on how you use each colour and what is available to you! It is a softer palette that is more modern and sophisticated simply by using a metallic neutral colour rather than a more familiar neutral like white, ivory, black, brown, or navy blue. Let's take a look some great ways that this palette can work together to give you a very memorable wedding!

{Table Settings & Decorations}

Personally, I don't know that many silver flowers. So, if you're looking for the best look that is the easiest to achieve, I would recommend using silver or metallic grey linens and decorations for your tables and ceremony while using pink accents. This makes a great visual contrast and makes the silver pop!

{Stationary}

For your stationary, you really can go either way, it simply depends on your personal preferences. Hand tied pink ribbons or bows make great accents to invitations, as do silver brooches and buckles.
