Adding mini pumpkins or fruit creates a "harvest" atmosphere because several types of apples and pears are in season during September and October. They even fit the green and orange colour palette! These little pears are used as cute favors, but they could easily become place cards or stands for table numbers.

Floral Friday - Green & Orange

Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Floral Friday (finally back on track)!
This week we've been looking at a Green and Orange colour palette. Since this is a fall inspired colour palette, you will want to use richer shades for your flowers. Opt for orange flowers that can have a deeper shade, like tulips, ranunculus or vanda orchids. If you are looking for something a little more unique, try chinese lanterns or orange oriental poppies. And if you find yourself in a bind, roses a beautiful, classic, and are available in many shades. When looking for your greens, hellebore and hydrangeas are to the go-to green flowers. Green berries are also a nice way to add green into your flowers while also adding in a touch of fall. However, you may find that greenery or the leaves and stems of your orange flowers offer enough of a contrast for your perfect day. And remember, be sure to talk with your florist about all of your available options since the time of year will affect what flowers are available to you.
Let's take a looking at some floral inspirations!

Centrepieces:

The centerpiece on the left pairs beautiful greenery with lovely orange roses and lillies. Also note the use of green fruits, such as apples and grapes, displayed across rich burnt orange coloured linens. The centerpiece on the right is more modern and combines several shades of orange with several types of flowers to give a clean, yet unique, look.

These centerpieces of orange roses and green berries are timeless.

This is another great DIY project for the eager brides! These centerpieces are simple orange tulips that are folded into a tall glass vase with water. The effort is minimal but the result is fabulous!

Bouquets:

You can see that the bouquet on the left consists simply of orange roses and ranunculi, but it creates a clean and cheerful appearance. The bouquet on the right is a bit more exciting, as it incorporates orange and white roses, orange calla lilies, small orange accents, green berries, and assorted greenery.

Again, on the left is a beautiful bouquet of orange roses. On the right, the flowers consist of orange ranunculi, green hellebore, green hydrangeas, and assorted greenery.

The bouquet on the left uses roses and tulips in a beautiful shade of burnt orange. For a more unique bouquet, we see on the right the pairing of orange roses with small green succulents for accents.

What to Wear - Green & Orange

Hello everyone and welcome to a (late) What to Wear Wednesday!
This week is all about a fall inspired Green and Orange palette. Let's take a look at some fashionable inspirations!

Wedding Dresses:
For your wedding dress, I really think that you can go with either a white or an off-white colour since they both will look equally as nice with this colour palette. Also, if you are going with a brighter green and orange palette, you might want to try to find some accents that are more fun like a big bow or some applique flowers.

Bridesmaid Dresses:
For your girls' dresses, you can go with either of the two colours. You could even mix the two! A good thing to remember however is that orange is a colour that isn't necessarily flattering for every complexion. Another thing to keep in mind is the time of year of your wedding. Fall can be a tricky time because depending on the year it could be warm or it could be cool. Full length dresses are a good way to combat the cold, but you may be more inclined toward shorter length dress. If this is the case, you could always have your girls wear cute boleros or cardigans or even some beautifully patterned pashminas.

Table Top - Green & Orange

Hey everyone and welcome back for a (late) Table Top Tuesday!
I apologize for the lateness of this post but I'm a bit slow coming back from this past Thanksgiving weekend.
This week we're looking at a nice fall inspired Green and Orange colour palette. For this palette you will most likely want to stay with a nice burnt orange or darker orange and for your green you'll want to stay with a shade that is more rich, like an olive green, rather than one that is bright.
Let's take a look at some great inspirations!

Table Settings:
Green and orange linens may be hard to find for your reception so you may want to consider using white, ivory, or brown linens as a backdrop for some dramatic orange and green centerpieces. However, if you are vigilant, you may find some fantastic linens and table pieces that work perfectly for your palette.

Stationary:

These invitations and napkin place card holders are a great shade of olive green.

This invitation opts for a single colour, but the bright orange bow is more than a statment!

This just goes to show that this colour palette can not only be used for the fall but it would make a great tropical wedding.

I know that some of these place cards are brown, but aren't they the cutest little things? And these are so simple that they would make a great project for the DIY brides out there.

Desserts:

For your cake, you may find that putting lots of orange and lots of green together can get to be a bit much. I'd would recommend opting for one of the two colours or pairing the two colours as an accent to white, ivory, or brown icing.

The cake on the right is really amazing and would be look really neat if seated next to the cocktail bar surrounded with martini glasses holding orange flowers.

The cake topper on the right is very sweet and makes a lovely alternative to classic Bride and Groom cake topper.

Stop by soon for your Green and Orange wedding fashions!

Eye Candy - Cupcakes & Mini Cakes

Good evening everyone!
Today is another edition of Monday Eye Candy chosen by you, my readers. The winner of last week's "What is your favourite wedding dessert?" poll is ... Cupcakes/Mini Cakes! So, sit back and prepare your eyes for some mouth watering inspirations.
Enjoy!

Mini Cakes:

These great little mini cakes don't have much in the way of icing, but they have alot of simple elegance. The mini chocolate wedding cakes on the left are dusted lightly with icing sugar and the mini angel food cakes are served with just a dollop of whipped cream.

All three of these desserts are miniatures of a wedding cake. Too cute and too delicious!

The mini cakes on the right are actually crottin cakes, which are tasty cheese pastries.

There are many ways to personalize your mini cakes. The mini cakes on the left are drizzled with the new bride's and groom's initials and the mini cakes on the right are packaged and tied with a small green button mum to reflect the flowers of the day.

Honestly, who could turn down a mini cheesecake when they are topped with beautiful pastel coloured icing flowers?

On a day when you are the center of attention, wouldn't it be nice to give a little something special back to your guests?

Cupcakes:

When it comes to mini cakes and cupcakes, its all about how you want to display them. Will you opt for a large tower, smaller towers for each table, or a flat display that will showcase the unbelieveable decoration?

Both of these cupcakes use icing and flowers in visually pleasing ways. Which is your favourite?

I bet you didn't know that are are so many ways that you can simply ice a cupcake! A solid and thick swirl of icing creates a more modern look, whereas a star shaped swirl is soft. Or, try mixing swirled icing with smoothed icing for a more eclectic look.

The way that your cupcakes are decorated and what they are topped with in yet another opportunity to express your creativity. Try candy, chocolates, or marzipan. The cupcakes on the bottom right are even topped with a personalized label!

Thanks for stopping in for another edition of Monday Eye Candy and don't forget to check in tomorrow for Table Top Tuesday!
